Why Buy Hosting from ‘GoDaddy’? Because…

We bought a Virtual Dedicated Server from GoDaddy to host our project management system, websites and blogs. We uploaded and installed everything as planned and everything seemed to work, although rather slowly, for a week or two…

We were in the middle of setting up and loading the data when suddenly the project management system stopped working. Well, it died on me, but Dee could use it from her computer but it worked so slowly that waiting for it to move from one screen to the next took too much time.

Projetex technical support was very helpful and after helping us to analyze the connection speed with www.speedtest.net, it was clear why Projetex wasn’t working: our “cloud” was in Singapore and the ping was huge! The signal was so weak that it simply could not work.

The next step was clearly to move everything to another location. I called GoDaddy, our hosting company, and within a couple of minutes a human being—as opposed to a robot—answered my call! I explained the problems we were having and asked if our ‘cloud’ could be moved. We were immediately offered hosting in either the U.S. or Europe. After weighing up the pros and cons we decided to move the virtual server, including websites and other goodies, to their European host.

The process was painless. The host in Singapore was left functioning until we moved everything over to the new cloud.  Projetex technical support moved the project management system and we dealt with the rest. The ping is good and everything works as it should.

We were lucky to be dealing with helpful technical support people from Projetex and GoDaddy. Everything was handled professionally and the migrations were glitch free. This is the type of issue businesses face every day and it is such a pleasure to know that there are people who listen until they understand the problem and are then willing and able to help find a viable solution. We highly recommend GoDaddy for hosting. Their prices are competitive and their technical support is excellent.

And I want to move away from godaddy because their servers are often unreachable.

Maybe, as in my case, your thingies are not on the right server. If this is the case you can move to one of their other servers.
